This is the face of a very special woman.  This is the face of a woman who is strong-willed, yet takes time out of her day to tend to her family’s needs.  This is the face of a woman who wakes up early each morning to pray for her husband’s day ahead.  This is the face of woman who unselfishly created hundreds of blog posts to chronicle the earliest years of her children’s lives for them to look back on some day.  This is the face of a woman who is surrounded by socks on the floor, messes on the stairs, dried food on a chair, Amazon boxes galore, dirty diapers, glucose test strips, pencils, running shoes scattered about, never-ending piles of laundry and still shows up each day to fight the same household chore battle.  This is the face of a woman who has coffee running through her veins.  This is the face of a woman who bakes a mean chocolate cake.  This is the face of a woman who is passionate about reading and desires to share the passion for reading with her children.  This is the face of a woman who cares so deeply for the well-being of her children that she embraced the opportunity to give of her time to teach them at home.  This is the face of a woman who gives of her time in the evenings to grade school work, plan school schedules for the next week, and research curriculum choices.  This is the face of a woman who works around the clock to keep her children alive.  This is the face of a woman who adapts to every new health-related challenge with grace and lovingly makes efforts to provide the best quality-of-life for her celiac and insulin affected loved ones.  This is the face of a woman who cares enough to cry tears of frustration when dozens of variables work against her in trying treat a low or high blood glucose.  This is the face of a woman who giggles at the same knock-knock joke, the same two-year old antics, and countless unexpected toots at the dinner table.  This is the face of a woman whose husband is incredibly proud of her decision to begin running.  This is the face of a woman who is very humble, yet she has and does many things for which to be proud.  This is the face of a woman I met over nine years ago, not knowing at the time she was the one God had chosen to be my best friend.  This is the face of a woman who agreed to be married to a simple IT guy.  This is the face of a woman who brought three beautiful bundles of joy into this world.

This is the face of a mother.

Happy Mother’s Day, my love.
